Interactive installation – Metamorphoses

Uncategorized Post by

EXTENSION OF THE BODILY  BOUNDARIES WITH THE USE OF INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGY. This  installation is based on body tracking and real time processing, and a dynamically evolving dialectic between artificial and human agents. In my work I deal with the difference between the real movement of my audience and how it merges with their imagined perception of it. By using a video camera and a computer, I translate their movement into simple, moving elements that contrast their natural quality, and project them back into the space. The result being organic forms with clear reference to the human body but unrecognizable as such. This way, I aim to explore the border between our physical being and its virtual translation.
